Superfood Bar

8/10 Love Score

Located near Union Station, Superfood Bar on Platte Street serves up sustainable and wholesome cuisine. You can quite literally taste the goodness with every bite – whether it’s an Asian-inspired umami bowl or a black bean burrito, served with a cashew coconut cheese. Vegan food in Denver doesn’t come much tastier than this.

Owner Joseph Stone opened up the bar in 2009 and it’s since gone from strength to strength. In fact, this place is so good that they’ve opened a second bar to cater to its growing popularity. With its laid-back vibes and welcoming atmosphere, this is the type of place you can rock up and grab something to eat, without the need to book.

City O’ City

9/10 Love Score

City O’ City can be found at E. 13th Avenue on Capitol Hill. You can come here for an early hearty breakfast, light lunch, or wholesome dinner. These guys do it all.  And make sure you check out their happy hour cocktail menu too.

Pretty much everything they make is locally-sourced or comes from their own urban micro-farm. The menu is huge too, with a guest favorite being the Chicken & Waffles: an extraordinary totally-vegan dish made with a variety of plant-based meat alternatives (cauliflower for chicken and carrots for bacon). Seriously, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.

Somebody People

8/10 Love Score

Next on our list of the best vegan restaurants in Denver is Somebody People. This place brands itself as a vegetable-forward dining experience – and we stand by that proclamation.

Its rustic Mediterranean-influenced menu makes it one of the best vegan restaurants in Denver for foodies after big hearty flavors. Think: homemade pastas, risottos, soups, and a classic Opera Cake. Yep, you heard right – who said a butter-creamy and chocolatey Opera Cake can’t be vegan?

The team behind Somebody People are also big on minimizing waste, so this is a must if you’re looking for an extra-sustainable dinner out.

The casual-style diner Meta Burger is a top choice for vegan comfort food. This place strives to change the public’s perception of vegan food in Denver with its crowd-pleasing menu of fast-food favorites – beef burgers, chicken burgers, dirty fries, mac and cheese. It’s all the good stuff you crave on cheat days.

10/10 Love Score

It’s clear to see why Watercourse Foods on 837 E. 17th Avenue often crops up on must-visit vegan spots in Denver – it’s got that winning combination of good vibes, great service, and awesome food.

As one of the oldest vegan restaurants in Denver (opening back in 1998), these guys simply know what they’re doing. Bang Up to the Elephant

10/10 Love Score

Last on our list of the best vegan restaurants in Denver is Bang Up to the Elephant, a beach shack-style hangout sitting on Pearl Street, near the Molly Brown house on Capitol Hill. The fact that ‘bang up to the elephant’ is Victorian slang for ‘perfect’ pretty much says it all – this place is a big favorite with locals after top-quality Caribbean cuisine, strong fruity drinks, and a fun-loving atmosphere. What more do you need?

On the menu are sandwiches, curries, and plenty of big plates and bowls to share – like their curried waffle fries served with pickle onions and tamarind sauce. The humongous 250-seater dining room is pretty special too. You’ll dine amongst water features, tropical plants, and multicolored stained-glass walls. Vegan food in Denver doesn’t come much more colorful than this.
